A few examples of the music we play:
Antoine-Joseph (Adolphe) Sax (Dinant, November 6, 1814 – Paris, February 4, 1894) was a Belgian craftsman who gained worldwide recognition for his groundbreaking invention, the saxophone.
At the Brussels Industrial Exhibition of 1841, Sax presented his revolutionary creation, the saxophone, to the general public for the first time. Because the instrument had not yet been patented, Sax played it behind a curtain, keeping the miraculous source of its sound hidden from view.
His image appeared on the Belgian 200-franc banknote as a tribute to his contribution to the world of music, and in Dinant, the International Saxophone Competition "Adolphe Sax" is organized annually, bringing talented saxophonists from around the world together to celebrate his legacy.
